• The Supreme Judiciary Council issues the Annual Statistical Statement 2015

    HE Judge Mr. Masoud Mohamed Al Amiri, President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, approved the Annual Statistical Statement of the lawsuits considered before courts of all grades and the actions taken in them last year.

     

    According to the Statement, 96,664 lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades in 2015, 80,933 of which were decided upon, representing 84% (2014: 82%).

     

    It is noted that the lawsuits that were considered this year in all types of actions increased from 2014 by 7,563, accompanied by an increase in judgements by 7,735.

     

    In addition, judgements delivered in check lawsuits amounted to 99%.

     

    Traffic and environmental lawsuits recorded a high decision percentage (environmental: 96%; Traffic: 96%).

     

    It is also noted that labor claims that were considered before courts this year (2015) increased, as they amounted to 1,853, with a corresponding increase in those decided upon (1,320 lawsuits).

     

    The Statement also included lawsuits that were heard in the summer months of 2015 (July, August and September). 21,391 lawsuits were considered, increasing by 1,483 to those considered in the same period in 2014 919,908 lawsuits). It was also noted that lawsuits already or almost decided upon increased in 2015 (10,505 lawsuits) increased by 797 to those considered in 2014 (9,708 lawsuits).  Thus, the increase in 2015 amounts to 0.34%, compared with 2014.

     

    HE the President of the Supreme Judiciary Council expressed his valuation of this effort by court judges and their staff, calling all to exert more effort to achieve highest degree of swift justice.

    96,664 lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, except for execution requests. 80,933 judgements were delivered in all lawsuits, representing 84%.

    First: Criminal Lawsuits

    These include:

    • Cassation appeals filed before the Court of Cassation, actions filed before the Court of Criminal Appeal, the Criminal Court, the Appealed Misdemeanor Court, Misdemeanor Court, the Court of Minors, the Check Court, the Traffic Court, the Environmental Court, the Search and the Follow-up Court.
    • 58,043 criminal lawsuits were filed and considered before courts, 54,492 of which were decided upon.
    • Thus, 94% of all criminal lawsuits were decided upon.

     Second: Civil Lawsuits

    1. 22,461 civil lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, 150,085 (67%) of which were decided upon actually or de facto.

    Third: Labor Lawsuits

    1. 8,995 labor lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, 6,123(68%) of which were decided upon actually or de facto.

    Family and Inheritance Lawsuits

    1-    6,224 family, inheritance and minor affairs lawsuit were considered, 4,583 (74%) of which were decided upon.

    Fourth: Administrative Lawsuits

    2-    941 administrative lawsuits were considered before courts, 650 (69%) of which were decided upon.

    Fifth: Execution Requests

    3-    25,850 execution requests were considered before courts.​

    Sixth: Transactions of the Department of Documentation

    4-    The Department of Documentation performed 16,257 transactions in 2015.
