• The Supreme Judiciary Council issues the Annual Statistical Statement 2013

    ​​​HE Judge Mr. Masoud Mohamed Al Amiri, President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, approved the Annual Statistical Statement of the lawsuits considered before courts of all grades and the actions taken in them last year.

     

    According to the Statement, 81,169 lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades in 2013, 66,020 of which were decided upon, representing 81%.

    It is noted that there was an increase in the judgements delivered in civil lawsuits in 2013 from those delivered in 2012. In 2013, 16,780 judgments were delivered in civil lawsuits, including labor and summary lawsuits, compared with only 15,394 judgements in 2012. That is, the difference is 1,386 judgements

    It is also noted that there is a decrease in criminal lawsuits that were filed and considered. In 2013, 48, 684 lawsuits were filed and considered before courts, compared with 51,080 in 2012. That is, there is a decrease of 2,432 lawsuits.

     

    The Statement also included judgments delivered in summer months (July, August and September). 6,923 judgements were issued from all circuits that worked in that period, in an increase of 1,823 from the number of judgements delivered in the same period in 2012 (5,100 judgements).

     

     HE the President of the Supreme Judiciary Council expressed his valuation of this effort by court judges and their staff, calling all to exert more effort to achieve highest degrees of swift justice.
