H.E. Mr Masoud Mohamed Al-Ameri, President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, met with H.E Mr Mogoeng Mogoeng, President of Supreme Court in Republic of South Africa and the accompanying delegation during the official visit paid by the delegation to the State from 23-26/10/2013.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination in the legal and judicial fields between judiciary authorities in Qatar and South Africa and ways of promoting the same.
Both parties seek to develop cooperation and coordination between them in terms of the development and training of judges and court assistants in both countries in the fields of alternative means to settle civil and commercial disputes, in addition to benefitting from judiciary expertise in South Africa regarding issues related to organising major sports events, such as the World Cup.
During the official visit, the President of the Supreme Court of South Africa and accompanying delegation reviewed and benefitted from the expertise of the Qatari judiciary in the fields of managing case files and using updated e-methods to collect and draft laws and legal principles and provisions, as well as information on judicial organisation, legislation and principles that guarantee the independence of the judicial authority in Qatar.
