• The President of the Supreme Judiciary Council Participates in the 18th Commonwealth Conference in South Africa

    H.E. Mr Masoud Mohamed Al-Ameri, President of the Court of Cassation and President of the Supreme Judiciary Council presided over the State delegation participating in the agenda of the Commonwealth's 18th conference as a guest of honour. The conference is currently held in Cape Town in South Africa, under the slogan of “The Judiciary and International Society's Need for Successful Litigation", at the invitation of H.E. Judge Mogoeng Mogoeng, Chief Justice of South Africa.

    In parallel with the conference, Mr Masoud met with several chief justices of New Zealand, UK, Singapore, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and Chad. Views were exchanged regarding the topics listed on the conference agenda, particularly the available mechanisms of judicial cooperation within the realm of swift justice and alternative means for hearing disputes and common experiences in this field.

    His Highness also met with Ms Sandra Oxner, Dean of the Canadian Judicial Training Institute--one of the top institutes of expertise in the field of preparing and training judges--and discussed ways of cooperation with the SJC in the relevant fields.
