• The Supreme Judiciary Council issues the Annual Statistical Statement 2014

    ​HE Judge Mr. Masoud Mohamed Al Amiri, President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, approved the Annual Statistical Statement of the lawsuits considered before courts of all grades and the actions taken in them last year.

     

    According to the Statement, 89,101 lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades in 2014, 73,198 of which were decided upon, representing 82%, increasing from 2013 (81%).

     

    It is noted that the lawsuits that were considered this year in all types of actions increased from 2013 by 7,932, accompanied by an increase in judgements by 7,178.

     

    In addition, judgements delivered in check lawsuits amounted to 99.5%, in a 2.5% increase from 2013.

    Traffic and environmental lawsuits recorded a high decision percentage (environmental: 97%; Traffic: 98%).

    It is also noted that labor claims that were considered before courts this year (2014) increased as they amounted to 1,305, with a corresponding increase in those decided upon (826 lawsuit).

     

    The Statement also included lawsuits that were heard in summer months (July, August and September). 19,908 lawsuits were considered, 9,708 of which were decided upon, in an increase of 1,509 (2013: 8,199; 2012: 6,501).

     

     HE the President of the Supreme Judiciary Council expressed his valuation of this effort by court judges and their staff, calling all to exert more effort to achieve highest degree of swift justice.

    89,101 lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, except for execution requests. 73,198 judgements were delivered in all lawsuits, representing 82%.

     

    First: Criminal Lawsuits

    These include:

    • Cassation appeals filed before the Court of Cassation, actions filed before the Court of Criminal Appeal, the Criminal Court, the Appealed Misdemeanor Court, the Misdemeanor Court, the Court of Minors, the Check Court, the Traffic Court, the Environmental Court, the Search and Follow-up Court.
    • 53,413 criminal lawsuits were filed and considered, 48,409 of which were decided upon.
    • Thus, 91% of all criminal lawsuits were decided upon.

    Second: Civil Lawsuits

     

    1. 29,171 civil lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, 20,036 (69%) of which were decided upon actually or de facto.

    Third: Labor Lawsuits

    1. 7,142 labor lawsuits were considered before courts of all grades, 4,803 (68%) of which were decided upon actually or de facto.

    Family and Inheritance Lawsuits

    5,700 family, inheritance and minor affairs lawsuits were considered, 4,196 (74%) of which were decided upon.

    Fourth: Administrative Lawsuits

    817 administrative lawsuits were considered before courts, 557 (68%) of which were decided upon.

    Fifth: Execution Requests

    1. 24,391 execution requests were considered before courts.

    Sixth: Transactions of the Department of Documentation

    1. The Department of Documentation performed 16,244 transactions in 2014.

    Seventh: Transactions of the Department of Translation

    1. The Department of Translation performed 53,863 transactions in 2014.
