H.E. Mr Masoud Mohamed Al-Ameri, President of the Court of Cassation and President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, participated in the 47th Malaysian Judiciary Conference, held in Kuantan, at the invitation of Judge Arifin bin Zakaria, President of the Supreme Federal Court of Malaysia.
H.E. President of the Supreme Judiciary Council visited the new courts complex of Pahang Province, which was inaugurated in parallel with the judicial conference. His Excellency was informed about the means used in the courts complex to facilitate litigation procedures and enable litigants to complete their work swiftly and effectively through the up-to-date electronic means available.
H.E. President of the Supreme Judiciary Council and H.E. President of the Malaysian Federal Court held a bilateral session to discuss aspects of cooperation and coordination between judicial authorities in the two friendly countries. They underlined the possibility of exchanging judicial visits and experiences in the fields of accelerating litigation procedures and using alternative means to settle civil and commercial disputes, such as mediation. The visit to Malaysia included the meeting with Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo, Director General of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration. The meeting discussed alternative ways of settling civil and commercial disputes, particularly commercial arbitration.
