Overview of the Judicial Inspections Department

Independence of the Judiciary is th​e main pillar of the rule of law in the country. Therefore, Judiciary Law No. 10 of 2003 was issued providing for the establishment of a Judicial Inspections Department affiliated with the Supreme Judiciary Council and entrusted with evaluating the performance and behaviour of judges, conducting technical inspections of their job performance and investigating complaints submitted against them, within the process of verifying their promotion to higher levels or subjecting them to disciplinary accountability, as the case may be, according to the provisions of that law and the Judicial Inspections Regulation No. 5 of 2005, as amended. ​​
